After many years of happy driving with various Renaults, I am thoroughly disappointed with the new Laguna. The Saloon does not allow normal adults to sit in the back (too low) and the Esate seems to be even 4 cm lower in the back than the current Grand Tour.

The difference with the new Mondeo is no less than 15 cm!

So, despite having been very happy with the current Renault Laguna, this will have to be the last since I do not want to ask future guests (or my kids for that matter) to bend double for hours.

Mr Ghosn, you should fire your design-team and marketing-people!! They have never ever sat in the back of their new model!

And this even without considering the effect of the beautiful sunroof which limits height even more...

Shame to do as if this is a review, it is a reprint of Renault marketing material!

it is just a beautyful car and you are the first that i have heard that there is no space in the backseat
even the show top gear had no comment so i think you are a .......

And for good order's sake, as long-time renault fan I would have loved to buy the new one, it would have been my tenth Renault give or take one or two. But there is a limit to the concessions one is willing to make.

Maybe when they come with their own SUV? But Laguna 2008 is going to be a no-go this way, for many old Laguna customers, certainly in the North-Western European countries where kids are simply taller than their parents these days.

Incredibly stupid of Renault not to take this into account and really, I am not telling lies, since I just compared myself the seating at the two dealers between new Laguna and new Mondeo and for same price, the latter one is simply much more spacious (not only in height). And Laguna really far too low.

Sorry if I hurt your feelings...

I have installed myself in the backseat of a new Laguna Estate and it's ceiling (without sunroof) is in fact a good 5-7 cms higher than the II-version (even if this is with panoramic sunroof).

Overigens is de Estate een prachtige wagen geworden!! Kofferruimte is bv strak afgewerkt en er is duidelijk weer veel beter aan details gedacht (betere afdekking vakjes weerszijden, veel beter bevestigingsmechanisme voor de afdekking van de kofferruimte etc.)
