i want to change my cooler fluid, and i wanted to ask first, about some instructions like, how many liters do it take till is full, what kind of a mixing should i take, and where can i release the old fluid?

anyone who gives some info,

what kind of engine is in the car ?
Cause that is important if you want to know how much should be available for a refill.

The best point (at least the fastest) is the bottom hose of the radiator.
Some engine's also have a plug on the engine-body for further drainage.
But then again, what type of engine is involved.

The mixing is for you to decide, i personally use pure cooler fluid because it prevents the engine much better against frost and overheating, and avoids corrosion inside.

Where you can release the old fluid, i don't know for you'r country.
It is toxic, i spilled it on the gras 2 year's ago, only this year some new gras grow on the same spot.
But as i said, i use the fluid pure, i don't mix it with water.

If the old fluid is out, re-assemble the bottom hose of the radiator (and if apropiate the draining plug on the engine body), then dismount the top hose of the radiator on the engine site, and pour the new fluid in that hose, so you fill up the radiator first.
Then when this is filled up, reconnect the hose, and fill the cooler fluid tank.
Leave the cap of this tank, start the engine, and keep a good eye on the level of cooler fluid in the tank.
It might drop like crazy, so fill it while it does so.
Also try to keep an eye of the engine temperature gauge, and do not play with the gas pedal.
If the engine become's to hot for what is normal, shut off the engine and let it cool down before proceeding.
When everything seems to work, the fluid level is not droppig anymore, engage the interior heating, because that little radiator needs to be filled to.
Again keep monitoring the fluid level in the expansion tank.
When al this is done, the air must be taken out of the cooling system.
How and where depends on the engine type.
Nothing great was ever achieved by being realistic!

thanks alot, for the info,

my car is R25-TX, 3speed automatic gearbox (fixed 8) :lol: ) year 1989, with 2156ccm, 101hp.

is this info for any help ?

I do not have information about the 1989 TX

But in the manual, i found the following (page 55) :
engine J6R : 7.5 liter
engine J7T : 8 liter
engine J8S : 7.5 liter
engine Z7V : 9.5 liter

There must be a little square metal plate under the hood.
The location can be different, but on that little square plate the type of engine is mentioned.
The plate can be fitted under the exhaust pipes neer the front side of te car, but there are other locations possible too.
If you have a manual, see page 78 (assuming the pagination is the same...)

hehe :) thanks for the picture

i looked and the engine is J7T, so i reckon it takes 8l, does it really do good, if you only use the concentrate liquid, and not add to it water ?
so any more infos on the J7T ? where can i get a hold on that book of yours ? :) it seems to do miracles :P

I would use unmixed cooling fluid. As Mathijs has told this is the best for freezing conditions and for preventing corrosion in your engine. I personally don't mix my cooling fluid either,,

I'm just curious but who fixed your transmission? Did you find the right mecanic to fix your problem? And what was the problem?
I'm asking because you were asking us about the transmission a few months ago.. :D

1. thanx for the cooling fluid - tips

2. my AT was fixed by a mechanic (i think the only one, in Romania) .. he's like 60yrs old, and works alone, so it took a while till he managed to fix it (2 months), and it costed me 1200euros, and it's working now fine. the problem was: because of oil leakage, the at couldnt build up anymore pressure, and the discs burn down (most of them) .. in meanwhile, a disc broke, and it got sweapt up by the wangler (if i say it correctly) .. and another part of the broken disc blocked some oil-canals and because the big pressure, the gearbox shell cracked. so what has been done basicly? got an used AT, from a crashed car, that worked, and renewed it ... and put it on my car. lot of money spent, but the car seems to work ok now. fuck, if i don't pay for my car, for what shall i pay for then ? :)

hope it doesent happen again, cuz i dont think i have another 1200eu, to spend very soon :)

most of the time that's the best solution; getting a good used new at.. Even better is to renew the at that you've bought. In this way you've made the risk of damage or problems later as small as posible.. :lol:
