R25 auto goes into limp-mode?

Anyone solved this problem or can send me the diagnostic manual?

The car goes into limp-mode sometimes and sometimes you just turn it off or pull the connectors apart at the little computer and it functions OK.

As always it makes you worried .

What solutions have you guys come up with?

Cas, would you be so kind to give us some more information of the type of car and year of production..
Is this an automatic, or manual gearbox and of what type.

sorry to repeat the reply but other will find it useful.


MJ3 auto box, 86 R25.
I think it is electrical because it comes and goes and is related to to limp mode .
If it didn't go into limp-mode it would be mechanical fault and be slipping or perhaps not select reverse.

Any one been able to tame the computer?
Ideal would be to modify so that you could use the selector to change gears even if there was no kick-down/
Selection failure seems to be the death knoll for these cars here , then manual conversion.

Cas, I have reacted on your other topic.
Yes it might be an electrical failure or corrosion in one of the many connectors.
